As summer unfolds, so does our deepening commitment to sustainable development across continents. From new agricultural and education initiatives in Rwanda to promoting equal access to higher education in Switzerland, the past months have been filled with meaningful progress. In this edition, we invite you to discover what we’ve achieved together – as we continue advancing towards resilient, self-reliant communities.
Training the next generation of agricultural change-makers
We’re excited to have launched the project “Shaping the Next Generation of Agriculture”, which offers young people with hands-on training in climate-smart farming. The goal is to strengthen local livelihoods while making rural communities more resilient to the effects of climate change.
Showcased at this year’s TVET Panel during the Swiss-African Business Day in Geneva—alongside leading representatives from philanthropy and private industry—the project represents the outcome of a three-year collaboration with the Rwanda Rural Rehabilitation Initiative (RWARRI).
Empowering Communities for Sustainable Change
Together with InPact, our trusted local partner in Uganda, we are launching a one-year pilot project: “Building Healthy and Sustainable Futures”.
The project aims to improve the living conditions of rural families through integrated interventions across five key areas: water, nutrition, health, income generation, and education.
By strengthening families’ resilience, promoting sustainable agricultural practices, and improving access to water through the installation of water tanks, the project encourages long-term self-reliance and reduces dependency on external resources.
Bridging gaps through education in Switzerland
In Switzerland, access to higher education is still not a given. Regional, family, or age-related factors, often limit opportunities – even in a strong education system.
Through the Suyana Education Fund, and in collaboration with our implementing partners, we offer financial assistance, tailored career counselling, and mentorship to students of all ages.
By fostering both personal and professional growth, we strengthen not only individual lives but the social fabric of our Swiss communities.
