Partnerships Beyond Borders
August, 2025
In August 2025, Suyana Foundation and Straumann Group Foundation established a strategic alliance to expand access to dental services in rural areas of Peru. The initiative, set to launch in October 2025, includes the creation of a Dental Care Station in Yanatile and the deployment of two mobile clinics that will serve communities in Cusco and Puno.
The Challenge
Bringing oral health closer
Today, many communities in the Peruvian highlands and jungle lack continuous access to dental services. Patients often need to travel long distances—sometimes for hours—to receive basic care. This alliance aims to transform that reality through the Dental Health Program, bringing oral health services closer to those who need them most.
An Integrated and Sustainable Approach
Strengthening local capacities
Working in coordination with local Health Networks and Facilities, Suyana Foundation identifies communities in urgent need of a dental clinic. As part of our regular activities, we also promote the donation of dental equipment. In this case, Straumann Group Foundation is providing this crucial support, enabling the creation of sustainable, well-equipped, community-based dental care spaces.
It is expected that more than 5,000 people will benefit from closer and continuous dental services.
Partnership Voices
The alliance between Suyana Foundation and Straumann Group Foundation marks an important step in our shared commitment to health equity. Together, we turn challenges into concrete opportunities: healthier smiles, empowered communities, and a fairer Peru.
“We’re not just treating patients – we’re building healthier futures,” said Thomas Först, Head of Strategic Partnerships at Suyana Foundation.
“We are proud to work alongside the Suyana Foundation to ensure that even the most remote communities can access the dental care they deserve,” stated Rainer Schlegel, Director of Straumann Group Foundation.
